New Gulf Air Chairman


Talal Al Zain, head of the Bahrain government's investment arm, was yesterday named as new chairman of Gulf Air. The chief executive officer of Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company replaces Mahmood Al Kooheji, who was appointed as Alba chairman earlier this month. Mr Alzain is joined on the airline's board by Lloyd Cromwell Griffiths, who was airline operations director at British Airways for 34 years.


Other directors are Jawad Habib Jawad, Adel Kanoo, Mustafa Al Sayed, Khalid Omar Al Romaihi and Mohammed Farouk Almoayyed. Gulf Air chief executive officer Bjšrn NŠf welcomed the appointment of Mr Alzain. "We look forward to a professional and successful relationship with Talal, who brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to help Gulf Air attain its rightful position," he said.
